Sable

Hair · Barbering · Treatments

Three chairs, one standard.

A salon, a barber chair and a treatment room under one roof on Mercer Street. Book whichever you need, with whoever you already trust.

The shop

You keep your person.

Most shops move you to whoever is free. We do the opposite. You book a person, not a slot, and if they are away that week we will tell you rather than hand you to a stranger and hope.

Six chairs, two barbers and one treatment room. Everyone here has done this for at least five years, which is the only rule about hiring we have ever needed.

The color room

What we are known for

Balayage from $260

Three to four hours, one colorist, no assistant finishing it for them. We will talk you out of it if your hair will not hold it, and we would rather lose the booking than hand you something that grows out badly in six weeks.

A consultation is free and takes fifteen minutes. Come in with photos.

Every price below is a starting price. Long or very thick hair costs more, and we will say so before we start, never after.

The treatment room

Facials and massage

One quiet room off the back hall, booked on the hour, phones off.

We hold two barber chairs for walk ins every day. Hair and treatments are by appointment, because they take the room for a while.

From Craft & Site

I made this shop up.

Sable is not a real business and this is not a live site. I built it to show what I would do for a shop that does hair, barbering and treatments in one building, where the whole job is making three different services feel like one place. The staff, the prices and the address are invented, and the photography is representative stock.

The lookbook above is real, though. It scrolls and snaps with no JavaScript behind it, on a phone or with a keyboard. So is the price list. That is the part I would want you to judge me on.
